Kinja'd!!!

I’m in Ohio for this weekend’s rally. I stopped in Dublin for the night and woke up to find this place across the street from my hotel.

Kinja'd!!!

The dealership ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ) spanned five showrooms in three buildings, plus a photo studio, massive “performance center” and at least another 50 cars just sitting out on the lot (including two Hellcats, two GT-Rs, a 911 Turbo, an SLS AMG, and a Gallardo). Didn’t take too many pictures because I didn’t want to be that guy, but here’s a few things that caught my eye.

There was also an Alfa dealership across the street with over a dozen Giulias on the lot.

Lastl, as a side note, when even Ferrari are on the fake exhaust bandwagon the war is truly lost.

It was absolutely pristine, and only had 28k miles. It also had the factory car phone, which was hilarious

That prowler has been there for like 2 years I think. What a dreadful car from a dreadful brand in a dreadful era.

Anyway, the people who work there were pretty nice in my experience. Two of the guys encouraged my friend and I to sit in an Aston Martin after we made it EXTREMELY clear that we were just poor guys looking at cool cars.

Yeah, most of the guys smiled and ignored me, but the dude in the end building was happy to chat and let me have a close look at anything.

Also I don’t hate the Prowler. The engine and transmission are wrong for the car, but once you remove the front bumper I like the looks of it. And the car handles beautifully.

The building that is kind of wedged in the corner of the two adjacent roads? That is where we talked to the 2 nicer guys. Everyone else just kind of ignored us, as you said. They didn’t seem to look upset that we were looking around, though.

As for the Prowler, I can’t comment on how it drives, but the looks are a little cliche from the beginning of the retro era, and the front bumper looks like a bad mustache. Not to mention Chrysler didn’t really make any good vehicles at that time, so I can’t imagine this is much different. Then again, I have a pretty severe prejudice against all Chrysler products

The building furthest from the actual barn, closest to the highway.

The bumper was awful, no doubt, which is why I only like them with it removed. I think calling the looks cliche is unfair though, because the retro era wasn’t even a thing yet. The PT Cruiser didn’t even come out for another three years. And I like the whole “being able to watch the suspension work while driving.” I’m with you on engine/drivetrain though, and it being a 90s Chrysler product. If Ford or GM had put this out instead I suspect it would have been much better (though really everyone kinda sucked in the 90s).

Lived in the Columbus era my entire life. Always been meaning to stop there but I never actually have.

Yup, that’s the building. I’d imagine it is the same guy. I think that building is typically the higher mileage/lower value area, but I could be wrong. I’ve only been there 2 or 3 times.

And yeah I suppose you are right. I think that the entire retro craze left a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak, and I dislike everything that came out of it. I’d like to think that GM would have done a better job, but a simple look at the SSR suggests otherwise. At least they got the drivetrain right, though.

One of the mechanics there is a friend of Brent in our bodyshop. They worked on his Jetta control arms down there just a few weekends ago. When I was searching for my A3 they had a few Audi there of various models in my price range I was being told about by Columbus friends. I found my car online before needing to make the road trip to check out stuff first hand..
